Having a good year? Help others via Headline Club Foundation‏

As 2014 nears its end, we sincerely hope you have had a happy, healthy and wealthy year. If your end-of-year balance is looking good, please help journalists in need by giving your extra money to the Chicago Headline Club Foundation.

The Chicago Headline Club Foundation provides more scholarship money than any other area journalism organization. This year we gave three $3,000 grants: the Les Brownlee Scholarship to Loyola University student Lauren DiVito; and intern scholarships to Andrew Holzman of the University of Chicago and Elise Haas of Loyola, who had summer internships at Rivet Radio and WBEZ Radio respectively.

The Foundation also is a major contributor to the Ethics AdviceLine for Journalists (866-DILEMMA), which has received more than 1,000 calls for help from all over the country. We offer grants for displaced journalists needing further education, assistance to journalists needing expense money to conduct investigations, and we hope to begin supporting a program for high school age journalists.

To do all of this, we need your help. Your donation to the Chicago Headline Club Foundation has a tax benefit because it is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization.

Plus, you get the satisfaction of helping journalists in need, both young and old.

Please also consider including the Foundation in your will, as your investment in the future of journalism.

Send your contributions to: Howard S. Dubin, Treasurer, Chicago Headline Club Foundation, 1633 Central St., Evanston, IL 60201-1569
