The Chicago Headline Club is hosting “FOIAfest 2015” from 8:30 to 4 on Saturday, March 14 at Loyola University’s Corboy Law Center, 25 E. Pearson St., Chicago.

In addition to sessions by leading Chicago-area journalists, there will be special presentations by Bruce Brown, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, and Brant Houston, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Chair in Investigative and Enterprise Reporting at the University of Illinois.

Attendees will get tips from the pros on how to wrestle information out of obstinate public agencies, learn how to access public records that are “hidden” in plain sight and how to analyze data for hard-hitting, compelling stories.

FOIAfest 2015 is made possible by a grant from the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.

Tickets are $10 for Chicago Headline Club members and students; $15 for nonmembers.  Nonmembers who join the Chicago Headline Club will pay the member price.

To purchase tickets, go to FOIAfest 2015.
