Ethics in Journalism Award
Since 1996, the Headline Club has annually recognized journalists and news organizations for performing in a highly distinguished ethical and sensitive manner.
Our Ethics in Journalism Award recognizes those who struggle to do the right thing, possibly against intense pressure. It’s for the “story behind the story,” how journalists conduct themselves while covering the news.
Code of Ethics
The Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics is voluntarily embraced by thousands of writers, editors and other news professionals. The present version of the code was adopted by the 1996 National Convention, after months of study and debate among the Society’s members.
