New rules for journalists wishing to obtain City of Chicago media credentials are in place, but the mechanics are not. Yet.
Maribel Hernandez, the police News Affairs employee who will be in charge, said it will probably be mid- to late-November before the office is ready to issue new press passes. The reason: an outside company has to change the expiration date on the press cards. She said she is eager to get started.
