Accountability reporting is a fundamental part of journalism — particularly as governmental bodies (locally and federally) prove to be less cooperative with media. FOIA Fest is the Chicago Headline Club’s annual public records conference, designed to build and reinforce investigative reporting skills for early career and seasoned journalists alike.
FOIA Fest 2025 is gathered some of the region’s best reporters, lawyers, editors, professors and producers working in the region to unpack some of the most pressing issues facing the industry, share skills and deepen investigative journalism techniques.
This page is a resource for FOIA Fest 2025, in the lead up to the conference, during and after. As FOIA resources are shared, the Headline Club will keep this page updated.
