The Chicago Headline Club Foundation, a charitable organization created by the local professional chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, offers two $5,000 scholarships for journalism students doing unpaid internships in the Chicago area.
Chicago Headline Club Foundation scholarship recipients are selected by journalism not-for-profits. Each college student serves an unpaid internship of 21 or more hours a week in professional newsroom in the Chicago area.
Requirements:
Student must intern with a Chicago-area media organization (print, broadcast or online).
Applicant must be a current college student (no recent graduates).
Internship must be at least 21 hours a week for at least 8 weeks.
Internship must be unpaid and the media outlet must be able to verify internship.
The Headline Club established the intern scholarships in 1999.
Neither the Chicago Headline Club nor the Chicago Headline Club Foundation is responsible for placing students in internships.
