In January of 2009 the Chicago Headline Club issued a Watchdog Fund Grant of $3000 to We the People Media, publisher of the Residents’ Journal.
The funds are being used for an investigative report on poverty and housing relocation issues facing low-income communities in Chicago and New Orleans.
Residents’ Journal is a non-profit 12-year-old national award winning publication which recruits, trains, and employs Chicago’s low-income adults and youths to report as well as circulate, the news that matters to them.
The Watchdog Fund, thanks to the generous support of the Richard Driehaus Foundation, helps journalists and freelance writers working on investigative stories.
