Dear Headline Club members and Chicagoland journalists:
Due to concerns over the coronavirus and COVID-19, we are cancelling the Lisagor Awards banquet this year, which was scheduled for May 15.
We will still announce the winners and we’re working on a virtual event to honor our Lifetime Achievement Award-winners and a few others. Winners will still get plaques, as we plan to drop-ship awards to newsrooms in May. Stay tuned for more details.
But for now, with a heavy heart, we’re cancelling the dinner — although this will give us more time to plan our 100th anniversary blowout in 2021.
